Day Twenty-Eight: Can't Stop Progress

This evening has been absorbed (between regular chores and a late evening at work) with exploring some of the blog options regarding multiple pages.  Look for things to get a little less cluttered and more organized soon (see labels above!) 

There is a Homeland Catalina deal until February 21st for buying Kikkoman Oriental Sauces (excluding marinades).  Get $0.75 for 2, $1.50 for 3, or $2.50 for 4 or more!  There were Kikkoman Ponzu Sauce coupons floating around recently online, will try to track down where those were from and update this post. 

Couponing to Disney has some neat ideas for earning Amazon.com gift cards!  Scroll down to the bottom, it's the last text snippit on the right-hand side.  Will be trying some of these out as Amazon.com is a great place to purchase all kinds of things. 

Day Twenty-Seven: Odds and Ends

Couponing to Disney put up a nifty link to the Recycle Bank where you can earn points and spend them on coupons like $4/$20 at CVS, Buy any Green Works product and get $5 off their laundry detergent, free Seventh Generation baby wipes, all purpose cleaner, or dish liquid, BOGO Huggies Diapers, $1/2 Bumblebee products, BOGO Celestial Seasonings Tea, $1/1 Coca Cola product, free box of Kashi cereal, $2/1 Pom Juice, and more!  You get 40 points for registering (not 100 as it stated on Couponing to Disney; maybe because Oklahoma City does not offer a curbside recycling program) and 50 for agreeing to the Ebay deal which is enough to redeem at least one coupon!

Also check out this money-making mail in rebate deal for Schick razors!  Mail-in rebates can really help bolster your coupon fund and they aren't a whole lot of work.  My first two mail-in rebate checks arrived in the mail this past week.  It sure felt great to open those envelopes and find money instead of bills!!

Visit Bite of OKC for 50% off gift certificates to local restaurants.  There is one restaurant featured each week and these are not the same as the restaurants advertised by Coupon Mom (restaurant.com).  By the way, until Monday, February 8th you can input code BLOOM at restaurant.com to save 60% (making a $25 gift card just $4) AND get a $15 FTD reward for flower savings! 

On Saturday, February 20th from 10am - 3pm, Auntie Anne's will be giving away free pretzels!  There is one in the Quail Springs Mall as well as one in Penn Square Mall.  If you sign up, you can also get a coupon for a free original or cinnamon sugar pretzel when you buy any pretzel, pretzel dog, or stix.  Today, for a free pepperoni pretzel when you buy any pretzel dog or stix. 

If you are planning to hit Walmart sometime soon, be sure to check out Passion for Savings, formerly known as NWA Deals.  Some of these deals (such as tabasco sauce and rhodes rolls) are better at Homeland, but it is definitely good to see what all your options are! 

Homeland has booklets of coupons for $1.00 off produce when you buy Earthgrain Bread.  This is really awesome bread, very healthy and delicious, and it's so nice to be able to choose any produce you like to go with it!  Stop by Earthgrain's website for a $0.75/1 coupon (Do not Double) to sweeten the deal, or grab the $0.55/1 coupon from this week's paper!

Sign up at Eat Better America for a $10 coupon booklet.  It doesn't say what the coupons are for so this will be a fun surprise.  You can also print coupons at their site!

Day Twenty-Six: Never Too Soon

It has been a really busy week, lots of overtime and even more stuff going on around the house.  There hasn't been a whole lot of space for coupon research in there but we have squeezed in a couple of trips to Homeland and one to PetSmart. 

In last week's paper, there were Petsmart only coupons for Purina Pro Plan dog food in several varieties.  Random and I decided to cash in on these this morning and picked up three of the 6-oz. bags for free!  We also got one of the "big" 6-pound bags for $5 after $5 off coupon and $1 off Petsmart sale.  Then I snagged a 20-lb. bag from Homeland on sale for $9 from $13 with a doubled $1 off coupon making it just $7!  He is kind of like a kid in that he wants to eat the "fast food" stuff that isn't as good for him but he seems to find tastier.  So, by buying both and mixing them together we have been able to save some money and get him some better nutrition at the same time. 

I'm sure Mia and I are not alone in trying to collect some Christmas presents early using couponing throughout the year.  Common Sense With Money has put up a list of some of the various toy deals at Target and Walmart!  Check it out here and don't forget to check for clearance sections as well!!

If you're looking to stock up on some pharmacy coupons, add Essentials for Living Well to your favorites list.  They have a variety of GlaxoSmithKline brand products, including Contac and Gaviscon. 

This morning I happened to run into a couple of friends at Homeland in the checkout lane (just a quick trip for dog food, not a lot on my list this time.)  They occasionally tease me for my couponing but have actually looked into it, they just feel there are not enough coupons for the items they purchase to invest a lot of time into it.  Whipping out my coupon binder, I was able to hand over $11.40 worth of savings on the spot - not a lot compared to their total bill but considering the short notice and not being able to see half the contents of their cart I thought it was pretty good!  With several $ off 2 coupons for items they only had one of, they could have gotten more of the same items they were buying cheap or even free had I run into them sooner.  Maybe next time!  Either way, it was a lot of fun and a good chance to show that there really are coupons for just about everything, sooner or later, no matter how brand-loyal a person may be. 

Tomorrow starts a new week at the pharmacies, and the papers today are supposed to be chock-full of coupons...can't wait to find out!  (Thank you, Mia, for picking mine up for me.  Random really appreciated the extra time at the dogpark!)  While making your list, try to gather $25 worth of Walgreens deals as according to Abundant Food Savings, this will yield a $5 register reward during the store's Wellness Event!!  Some will be held this week and some next week:

* The store at 89th and S Penn will be having theirs on Friday the 12th from 3pm - 8pm.
